... I'm updating the release notes.
I'm also putting a warning in the guides themselves.
I'm thinking we can put more details in #12715 as needed. Stuff about potential abnormal behavior with .8, etc.

I suggest we do mention to expect log messages of SEVERE levels to avoid panicked sysadmins.
