Azure DevOps Login

If you plan to log in with a personal Microsoft account (How to check account type), Microsoft will default to using that account for authentication. However, Microsoft doesn't allow "Personal" accounts to grant API access to Azure DevOps, for reasons explained in the Azure documentation.

Note: If your Microsoft account is a work account that was provisioned for you by your Azure organization/admin, then you can leave the "Tenant ID" field blank. Tenant ID is necessary only for users who have a personal Microsoft account.

Instructions for retrieving Tenant ID

To find your Tenant ID:

  1. Log into the Azure Portal (make sure you select the "Default Directory" for your organization).
  2. Search for "Microsoft Entra ID".
  3. On the Overview page, look for Tenant ID (a UUID like xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

💡 If Microsoft's login page can't recognize your user valid account (with a message like "This username may be incorrect"), return to this page and specify a Tenant ID.
